Milestone Trial-2

Trial-2 is code release needed by the time most of the B4 units get to the country trials - July 23 is release date. The first date of interest is feature freeze on 6/26/07. Then we will get a candidate release each Friday until Monday, July 16, which will be release candidate 3 and Code Freeze. Final release is set for 1 week later, Monday July 23. Below is a list of features that are expected to meet the feature freeze date.

• X keysyms and keyboard fixes, if ready. (#663, #1276)
• XO Activation with USB stick
• Low level security support (kernel and firmware)
• Support for manual backup/restore with School Server
• Manual XO updates, don't lose user data
• School Server support for activation of multiple XOs
• Power management, suspend/resume
• Journal with basic views, everything must be 'openable'
• XMPP, Salut
• Link local automatically (manually, if not automatically)
• Basic activities: Read, Write, Camera, Paint, Browse, Chat, eToys, TamTam, Watch and Listen
• Collaboration support for all basic activities with Server or AP
• Collaboration support with mesh only (no server needed) for Read, Abiword, Paint, eToys
• Mesh UI improvements - basic search/filter, invites, limited Group ('friends'), badges/states of connectivity
• FC7, python 2.5
• IPv6 (for management, remote support)
• Mesh beacons
• Programmable anycast
• WPA, WiFi Compatability
• Mfg Tracking Server
• Other Activities (may not be available in taskbar): Newsreader, Journal, Library, Develop (console only), Block Party, Turtle Art (this list is still being worked)
• New SD driver from upstream
