We added a check for font sizes in the range < 4 or > 20 at the start of the Gnome session in http://dev.laptop.org/attachment/ticket/10539/0001-Add-functions-to-olpc-session-to-check-gnome-configu.patch

|TestCase| In Gnome go to System -> Preferences -> Appearance and change any Font size to more than 20. When you restart Gnome (or go to Sugar and return to Gnome) the font size will be in 7.

  • next_action changed from test in build to no action
  • resolution set to fixed

Tested that if any fonts in the Appearance menu had a font size below 4 pixels or greater than 20 pixels then that particular font selector was reset back to 7 pixels in size.

This does not however stop someone from changing the font face/style used (which in the case of symbolic fonts, could still be pretty annoying).
