My opinion: they are all fine as-is. We already have many favourite activites by default, having so many icons is difficult for young kids (and me, sometimes! ever had a "where's the damn Record icon" moment?).

If we don't add them to the ring they might not be discoverable at all. And there are some of the current in-the-ring activities that I would remove. I definitely prefer to have Abaccus in the ring over Maze or Implode. As well at the early OLPC days Activities like Read or Jukebox were not part of the favorites since they needed external data to be useful.

About finding an Activity, yes happens to me as well. I had some ideas of enabling the search in the Home View, maybe I should free them from the dust...

Ok, we agreed on one point already: Activities that are only used for displaying should not be part of the ring: remove Read, ImageViewer and Jukebox from the favorites.

More agreement: we should remove the favorite status from 'HelloWorld' (only example), and
tamtamsynthlab (is good for further exploration). Log/Terminal keep being non-favorite.

Further we need to decide what we do with the WikipediaActivity. Keep both versions, the Spanish and English one?

For the next cycle we should try to move the Help activity to a more appropriate format #11006 and update the content.

Just a comment, there are mails in the list, where users complaint about having few space in XO-1. May be we can cook a image without Gnome to the XO-1, like one option.
