Numeric boot progress enhancement resizes screen or changes font, not changed back afterward

Description

svn 2392 added the ability to show numeric startup progress messages when the check key is held down.

But if all the numbers show properly, when OFW detects the a game key is held down, it does not alter the screen resolution back to normal, making OFW verbose messages shown due to the check key unreadable onscreen.

If what I really wanted to see is the latter, I usually hold down the check key prior to pressing the power button, which causes the former to show as well.

Change History

  • owner changed from wmb@… to Quozl
  • next_action changed from diagnose to add to release

Fixed by cforth git commit 816d2c699

The problem was that CForth was repeatedly polling the check key and forcing the resolution. The change was to stop polling the check key after it was once seen to be held, thus allowing OFW to control it eventually.

Further improvement in cforth git commit 5eca21e56 - cforth stops polling as soon as it sees OFW take over the screen, thus avoiding a possible race condition.
