Description
A number of operations restart X
- Switching desktop from GNOME to Sugar
- Other Sugar control panel options that require a Sugar restart
If you try them quickly, it can trigger upstart's "prefdm respawning too quickly" control, which effectively kills X.
Related to #4561. Definitely present in 11.3.1 and earlier builds.
Our new OS in development (12.1.0) has a different init system. After initial testing, it does not seem to have this problem.
