13.1.0 does not connect to a wireless AP

Booted the XO. In Neighborhood View, clicked "connect" for the icon of my local AP. The parentheses around one of the ad-hoc icons vanished -- but nothing further happened.

With 12.1.0, clicking on the AP icon produces the desired results.

Further, with 13.1.0 even after manually entering 'iwconfig' and 'route' commands (and making sure /etc/resolv.conf was correct, I was still UNABLE to establish a connection to the AP.

Mikus, what is the AP configuration? Open/WEP/WPA/WPA2/PSK?

Ticket 12133 was written after several APs with WEP failed to connect.

Tried it with an open AP - os4 connected as it should

Clicking on the AP icon in Neighborhood View still does not bring up the dialog that asks for the key. Result: cannot conect to my WEP network.

Applied the fixes in the above commits. [I do not believe I made any clerical errors while doing so.]

With the above fixes applied manually, 13.1.0 still does NOT connect to my WEB AP.

I meant "WEP AP". Not connect == key dialog never shows up.

13.1.0 os6 does not fix the problem. I still get no dialog when I click on my AP (WEP) icon -- thus I was unable to connect to that AP.

Correctio: The #12133 fix did work correctly for me with XO-1,75 os6 - I was able to connect to my wireless AP

The #12133 fix did not work with XO-1.5 os6, nor with XO-1 os6 -- I was not able to connect to my wireless AP (no key dialog ever appeared).

I did - see my posts above.

The test works with the XO-1.75 os6 build..

The test does not work with the X86-architecture os6 builds.

I can get 13.1.0 os6 to connect to wireless APs except on XO-4, which seems to refuse to connect to any network (including Ad-hoc) in Sugar. In GNOME I can connect to networks on XO-4.

The XO-4 issue will be moved to its own ticket.

There seem to be some theme variations between XO models for the wireless password dialog (some have it black on grey, some have it white on black) but I have not tracked down a cause for this yet.
