But it is not working in the F18 version. It doesn't produce any output, just prints: Try 'gzip --help' for more information.

It worked in F17, which had gzip-1.4.

Fixed in gzip-1.5-3.fc18 - there was a spurious blank line in the patch causing some crucial hunks not to be applied.

Test in 13.1.0 build 12. Bert, can you provide a test case showing how etoys was affected by this breakage?

Wel, for one the files in e.g. /usr/share/etoys/locale/en/QuickGuides/ should not be empty.

The real test is to press the help icon in Etoys (top left) and select one of the topics. If it loads, all is fine. We call these the "QuickGuides".

Ah, I guess those files are created and compressed in the etoys build process? In which case we will have to rebuild the etoys package before this bug is fixed.

The gz files in question are non-zero in size, and the Quick Guides appear to have content in 13.1.0 os27.
