#1416 new defect

Power savings for transition to LX S1 state is not known...

The LX supports a true S1 power state. We don't know how much power this will save. The lower the tick level of user space and the kernel, the better; this will improve with time given the general work in the community.

The first step is to see how much power it saves in S1 state.

On further investigation, it isn't clear it will help us over S3 significantly. The data sheet shows significant power savings, but as the video drivers are off, we still incur the DCON delays on resume.
So while the number is interesting, it may or may not be an academic exercise. Time will tell ;-).

  • Keywords power added

  • Cc rsmith added
  • Milestone changed from Trial-2 to Trial-3
  • Owner changed from rsmith to shenki
  • Verified unset

DCON delays are not an issue given wmb's hack on the dotclock.

I'd love some data to prioritize development.
