Erase option in Journal does not remove files from a USB stick

When viewing the contents of a USB stick in Journal, selecting the "Erase" button on an entry (file) is supposed to delete the file. It doesn't - clicking the Erase button doesn't do anything.

Got this in the logs but the file is still present in the usb stick.

On build 535, if you click erase on a file the first time, it will return you to the Journal's entry list without deleting the file. If you return to that file and click erase again, it will return you to the Journal's entry list and the file will be actually deleted this time.

Actually, while the journal entry for the item you try to delete is removed after the second attempt, the file is not actually deleted. If you ls you'll find that it's still there, and if you remove and re-insert the USB stick the, the journal entry will re-appear.
