Description

activity bundles should have a way to provide metadata/fulltext extraction for mimetypes they added (see #2457) . Currently only a handful known types are indexed by datastore.

They can provide what ever properties they want. In the tests directory test_model.py and properties.txt show this. Additionally directly providing the 'fulltext' property will result in additional full text being indexed.

There is a misunderstanding here. I'm talking about recognizing and extracting metadata from documents other than the built-in TXT, PDF, DOC, and ODT. For example, it would be simple to extract a preview image from a downloaded etoys.pr file, provided the Etoys bundle can provide a converter plugin for the datastore.

Content indexing is currently disabled, I'm not sure if we plan to reenable for trial-3.
