key presses interfere with resume

Description

G1G1 update-1 693 Q2D13 I suspend by closing the case. After I open the case, the laptop is still suspended. If I press some keys (e.g. shift) then when I press the power button to resume then the laptop refuses to resume and stays in suspend. It seems like I have to press the power button once for every time I press a key on the keyboard. For example, if I press shift 3 times then I have to press the power button 4 times before the laptop will resume.

I hope this isn't a symptom of a more serious problem.

I think I understand this one. Thanks for reporting it. (It's the most amusing bug ever, if it's what I think it is.)

What, you're not going to share with the rest of the class? Shame on you, cjb.

Hm, I thought I could guess what this was, but then I tried to reproduce it and found that I can't.

It is not easy to reproduce. You have to wait until the laptop really goes to sleep and stops responding to key presses. Even then, I couldn't get it to happen every time. I could only trigger the bug only about 20% of the time.

I suggest you change the priority from blocker to normal. The problem does not interfere much with normal use. I just hope that it isn't a symptom of something more serious.

Thanks, will do. We're going to release a build to Peru shortly, so I think we'll quickly find out if this is a problem there.

I bet this is a duplicate of bug 5703.
