broken "release notes" link in Activity and Library Bundles page

Reported by: skierpage Owned by: hhardy
Priority: low Milestone: Opportunity
Component: library Version: Build 708

Blocked By: Blocking: #7423
Deployments affected: Action Needed: never set
Verified: no

I updated my G1G1 to 703 (8.1.1 candidate). If you navigate OLPC Library, click "activities", click "find activities", you're taken to Activity and Library Bundles (/usr/share/activities/bundle-archive/index.en.html). At the bottom of this page is "To update your system, see the guidelines at the _release notes_ page.

That _release notes_ link goes to That server is badly configured to redirect to , which does not exist.

I don't know the intended use of (someone should check its access logs). One fix for this bug would be to

*Reconfigure the web server to redirect to

*Create a page here that redirects to the actual release notes.

The next problem is there aren't release notes for Update.1, but for specific releases like 8.1.0, 8.1.1.

  • Priority changed from normal to low

I made the bogus wiki page that the link ends up requesting ( a redirect to Release Notes/8.1.0. So the link is no longer broken in Update.1. But the problems with the link and remain.

Updates to redirects: should point to Release notes/8.1.0? should point to Release notes/8.2.0?

I don't think we need the extra level of redirection, and the wiki link is not much longer.
I would rather have these point directly to the wiki, but please make sure these redirects work as expected.

  • Resolution set to fixed
  • Status changed from new to closed

These redirects were fixed as above, and the current homepage no longer links directly to any specific version.
