Description

Using 8.2-757

When the touchpad goes nutty, I know from the release notes that I just have to leave it and wait <10 seconds for it to recalibrate itself. Knowing this, I no longer fight with the touchpad.

I wonder if the cursor could change to some shape which would "tell" kids, "hands off the touchpad for a bit, please". Like changing fully to a spinner, as if the Cursor (equivalent to the touchpad, in kids eyes) was thinking/working/fixing-itself (recalibrating).

This requires both kernel and non-kernel work. We need a way for the kernel to tell the application stack that we are calibrating and that information has to be used by (X? Sugar?) to go into spinning cursor mode until we send an end of recalibration message.
