USB transfer of items not successful for all items. 8.2-759

maybe i am doing something incorrectly, but when i do the usb transfer (in the 1 hour smoke test) of various items from one XO to another, neither google clipboard image nor video taken in record resume properly in the second XO. In other words, i can't watch the video on the second XO from the USB transfer and i cannot resume the google search/clipboard image on the second XO.

Do we know if this is a regression?

I was curious about this backup & restore of Journal items using USB. So with my single XO I copied several items from my Journal to USB (using drag & drop), then unmounted USB stick, unplugged it, then deleted original items from my Journal, then replugged USB stick, then copied all the items back to my Journal (using drag & drop), then unmounted and unplugged USB stick, then tested all those items restored in my Journal.

Images and a video (from Record) displayed or played okay (in Browse), as did a couple of alt-1 screenshots. A pdf ebook viewed okay in Read. Activities Ruler.xo and Doom.xo launched okay. And activities Terminal and Log both resumed okay.

A couple of restored clipboard items did not produce sensical results when I clicked on them. So most things transferred to USB and back worked okay, but clipboard items need more study.

I am testing 8.2-759 with one XO. I don't have a second XO for reproducing frances' problem with the transferred Record video.

i did this part of the smoke test again using 760 and its still not working, this time opening video (record activity) in the 2nd XO initiates browse (?)- in other words, I clicked "resume" under the record activity video from the USB stick and browse opened, displaying a blank screen. Reproduced in a third XO.

could the fact that you are using the same XO in both cases be presenting the varying data?

tried it again with another, third, XO and video worked (through browse), clipboard worked and continuing an image search on browse worked too. will try to reproduce success.

tested in build 763 and all items resumed in the second XO except the video, but when I tried it again in a different XO the video came up fine. Closing ticket

attempted again in a clean installed XO (no journal contents) and the images came up fine except the write activity. Its seems the rare case where all items are resuming in the next XO. don't know if this is a blocker or not

got it to work in candidate-766! there is an issue with the items being saved, but that could be a future enhancement or feature.
