B4 laptop, olpc-update joyride-2456

During boot, "Starting HAL daemon: [FAILED]".

X then came up, arrow cursor appeared, then X crashed. Happened 3 times, then went to the console.

Error messages from X log:

AmdPciProbe: Probing for supported devices! (EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so failed (/usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.xo: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory) (EE) GLX: could not load software renderer (EE)config/hal: couldn't initialise context: (null) ((null))

I saw this too, on my first boot of 8.2-762. Pretty bad.

(The crash is in Sugar, because it fails to find HAL and doesn't catch the exception.)

Happened again for me, during a boot with 8.2-763 .
